Driving instructions to the Salt River Canyon and your Whitewater Adventure!

FROM PHOENIX: The distance from I-17 and US Hwy 60 in Phoenix is 130 miles. Take Highway 60 east (Superstition Highway) to Globe. Pass through Globe to the intersection of US Hwy 60 and AZ State Route 77 where there is a traffic light and a Taco Bell. Not the Taco Bell in the Walmart parking lot which is actually Claypool/Miami. It is now 38 miles to the bottom of a huge canyon and the turn off at mile marker 293. Take the first left once you cross the bridge and follow our signs for Salt River Rafting. We have our own separate parking and office from the other rafting companies. Welcome!

FROM TUCSON: The distance from I-10 and AZ State Route 77 in Tucson is 150 miles. Take Highway 77 north (Oracle Road)to Globe. Follow the signs north turn at Taco Bell) towards Showlow. It is now 38 miles to the bottom of a huge canyon and the turn off at mile marker 293. Take the first left once you cross the bridge and follow our signs for Salt River Rafting. FROM SHOWLOW: Drive south out of town on US Hwy 60 - AZ State Route 77 and go 49 miles to the bottom of a huge canyon with a river and bridge and the turn off at mile marker 293. Do not cross the bridge. Just past the abandoned store turn right onto the dirt road and follow our signs for Salt River Rafting. We have our own separate parking and office from the other rafting companies. Welcome!

TO BASE CAMP: Turn off the highway as described above depending which direction you are coming from. The only real difference is instead of following our sign to our office continue straight across the cattle guard and past the parking lot for the other outfitters. Drive 2 1/2 miles down the dirt road heading west which is above and down river. As you approach you will see camp ahead and will make a left turn at the small sign that reads "Second Campground, all dogs must be on leash." We are the second outfitter.
